What is Addrexx?
Addrexx is the company and product name, spelled A-d-d-r-e-x-x. Our current offering is checkout address validation for Shopify Plus. Addrexx has operated since 2012.
Does Addrexx require Shopify Plus?
Yes. The current Addrexx checkout address validation offering is for Shopify Plus merchants.
How does address correction work?
Addrexx checks the shipping address entered at checkout and can present a suggested correction for the customer to review. When the customer accepts the suggestion, the shipping address in Shopify is updated.
Is this address autocomplete?
The current offering validates shipping addresses entered at checkout. It presents suggested corrections and missing-detail prompts rather than providing address autocomplete.
Can Addrexx detect a missing apartment, suite, or unit?
For U.S. addresses, Addrexx can identify when secondary address information may be required and prompt customers to add the missing apartment, suite, or unit.
Why does a missing apartment number matter?
Without an apartment, suite, or unit number, a carrier may not be able to deliver to a multi-unit building. UPS and FedEx may assess an address correction fee when they have to complete or correct an address. Addrexx flags U.S. addresses that may need an apartment, suite, or unit number and prompts the customer to add it at checkout.
Does Addrexx validate Shop Pay addresses?
Yes. When the Addrexx app block is enabled in Shop Pay, it validates the default shipping address on page load and checks the shipping address when a customer selects another saved address.
Which validation rules can merchants configure?
Merchants can configure checks for missing house numbers and street names, address-field length limits, character rules, PO Boxes, private mailboxes, and geographic restrictions. Rule availability varies by location.
Can U.S. and international rules be different?
Yes. U.S. and international address rules can be configured separately, and merchants can choose the countries where validation runs. Missing apartment detection and state restrictions apply to U.S. addresses.
How do I add Addrexx to checkout?
Add the Addrexx checkout extension to your Shopify Plus checkout, place its app block, configure your validation rules, and test the flows your store uses. Enable the app block in Shop Pay if you use that checkout. Contact our team for help with setup.
Does validation guarantee delivery?
Address validation helps identify address issues. Delivery also depends on factors outside the address validation process, so it is not a delivery guarantee.
